Take only pictures, leave only footsteps
Sailing in an area such as the Exumas brings a great appreciation for the natural environment. We aim to leave no trace of our presence on the islands we visit. We ask all our guests to be aware of their impact upon the environment and to consider how they can reduce negative impacts. We would wish our guests to consider offsetting the carbon used for their flights and choose a sustainable and ethical way to do this. One way of doing this would be to perhaps donate to the Bahama National Trust or the Exuma Land and Sea Park As members of the Exumas Land and Sea Park Support Fleet we actively support the Park ourselves and we adhere to their wish that we "Take only pictures, leave only footsteps. Whilst we operate mainly to the South of the park we follow this philosophy on all islands that we visit. Our craft are of course all renewable energy powered wind craft and we also make use of solar panels to desalinate our water for drinking and showering. Food is sourced locally where possible and we support and will only buy fish that is part of a sustainable fishery. We carry composting toilets fitted on board our Wharram Pahi 31 and also have portable toilets which store waste to be properly disposed of on Great Exuma where facilities exist.
